Rosh Yeshiva / Dean
Since founding Yeshiva Ohr David together with Rav Chaim Flom ZT”L, in 1980, Rabbi Yosef Granofsky has been a visionary in the field of post high school Jewish education.
Rabbi Granofsky is a graduate of Yeshiva University, with a degree in both psychology and education. A Talmid of Yeshivat Chofetz Chaim, New York, he went on to teach at their Yerushalayim branch. Rav Granofsky received Smicha from Rabbi Zalman Nechemia Goldberg. The Rosh Yeshiva also spent more than 25 years in the IDF Reserves.
He resides in the Ramat Shlomo neighborhood of Yerushalayim.
Rosh Yeshiva / Dean
Rabbi Yoni Yehoshua brings a dynamic blend of warmth, creativity, and educational leadership to Yeshiva Ohr David. A graduate of Yeshiva Chofetz Chaim in Queens, he holds Smicha from both Yeshiva Chofetz Chaim and HaRav Eliyahu Abargel, Head Dayan of the Beit Din HaGadol of Yerushalayim. He also earned a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Bellevue University.
Before joining Ohr David, Rabbi Yehoshua taught at Ezra Academy in New York, where he became known for his innovative and experiential approach to Halacha, Mussar, and Gemara learning. A renowned speaker and sought-after educator, he is recognized for his ability to present complex ideas with clarity, passion, and practical relevance—bringing Torah to life both in and beyond the classroom. As Rosh Yeshiva, he is now leading the revitalization of Ohr David, shaping a program that blends immersive Torah study, personal growth, and real-world connection for the next generation of bnei Torah.
He and his family are in the process of making Aliyah to Yerushalayim.
Maggid Shiur
Rabbi Chaim Estrin was a talmid of Yeshivas Zichron Yaakov and learned in both the Kollel Toras Moshe and the Kollel of Rabbi Moshe Wolpin. He also holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Florida. Over the years Rav Estrin has taught in Yeshivat Ohr Somayach and Yeshivas Netzach among others. Here in Yeshivat Ohr David he is currently head of the night seder staff and as such oversees our night seder programming. Rav Estrin lives within walking distance to the Yeshiva in Ramot and often hosts bochurim for Shabbat meals and after seder activities.
Maggid Shiur
Rabbi Efraim Galinsky is an alumnus of the Sha’alvim Yeshiva High School and a Talmid of the Chevron Yeshiva and its Kollel in Yerushalayim. A published author, Rabbi Galinsky’s book “Right On the Money” deals with Halachic questions pertaining to monetary matters. Aside from teaching a morning shiur in Ohr David, Rav Galinsky is the Rabbi for the Yeshiva’s halachic questions. He serves as the coordinator of the Rabbinical Board for Mishpacha Magazine. Rabbi Galinsky lives in the Neve Yaakov neighborhood of Yerushalayim.
Rebbi
Rabbi Pollack serves as a senior Rebbe at Yeshiva Ohr David and at Yeshiva Chofetz Chaim – Jerusalem, where his dedication to Torah and to his students has left a lasting impression. With clarity, humility, and consistency, Rabbi Pollack has guided countless talmidim to recognize the centrality of Torah learning in their lives.
Respected as both an educator and a role model, he leads by example, demonstrating that Torah is the foundation and purpose of a meaningful life.
Rabbi Pollack resides in Ramot.
Maggid Shiur
Rabbi Raphael Monczyk is an alumnus of Sh’ar Yashuv Yeshiva and the Mir Yerushalayim Kollel. Rabbi Monczyk is a member of Ohr David’s morning seder staff, giving our bochrim the individualized and patient attention they need to improve their basic reading and learning skills. Rabbi Monczyk lives in the Ramat Shlomo neighborhood of Yerushalayim.
Rabbi Shmuel Schottenstein is a graduate of the Telz Yeshiva of Cleveland. Rav Schottenstein learned in Yeshivas Yagdil Torah and its Kollel and in later years worked as an Administrator. He taught in Yeshivas Torah Ohr in Yerushalayim and worked as an administrator in the Brisker kollel. At Ohr David he teaches an afternoon shiur and is a vital part of the Yeshiva’s administrative staff. Rabbi Schottenstein is a resident of Kiryat Sefer, Modiin Illit.
Chumash Rebbi
Rabbi Piontnica brings a certain warmth and caring for the bochurim. He has 30+ years of experience teaching both in Ohr David and in Torah Ohr. His Chumash B-iyun Shiur on the Parasha, filled with Midrashim, insights, and captivating stories bring meaning and inspiration to life.
Rabbi Piontnica lives in the Ramat Shlomo neighborhood of Yerushalayim.
Rabbi Yaakov Kohn is a talmid of Lakewood East and a central figure at Kollel Zichron Shlomo in Yerushalayim, where he serves as the Kollel’s General Manager (ManKal). Alongside his leadership role, Rabbi Kohn is a devoted Night Seder Rebbi at Yeshiva Ohr David, guiding talmidim as they strengthen their bekiyus and develop real confidence in learning.
Rabbi Kohn is known for the energy and heart he brings to the yeshiva every day. He is exceptionally in tune with the bochurim, building genuine relationships and offering steady support far beyond the formal hours of Night Seder. Living within walking distance, he also regularly hosts students for Shabbos meals, creating an extended sense of home, warmth, and connection that leaves a lasting impact.
Rabbi Beaton joined Yeshivat Ohr David bringing with him his timeless scholary knowledge in all aspects of Torah Judaism,
As a former Rabbi in England, Rabbi Beaton has mentored and taught thousands of young adults giving them the tools they need to succeed in Torah Learning.

Maggid Shiur
Rabbi Yitzchak Lefkowitz is an alumnus of Yeshivat Ohr David. He is a graduate of Torah Vodath and a talmid of Yeshivat Chofetz Chaim, New York. He received a degree in Educational Administration. Rabbi Lefkowitz has held both teaching and administrative jobs at various Yeshivas and high schools including Yeshiva Torah Chaim and the Hebrew Academy of Miami Beach. He teaches both a morning seder and an afternoon seder at Yeshivat Ohr David. Rabbi Lefkowitz recently made Aliyah and lives in Ramat Beit Shemesh.
